In my role as a designer at past workplaces, I learned videography and video editing skills. Depending on the subject matter and communication needs of the video, myself (alongside my coworkers) have developed a few different video/editing styles. In general, my role as video editor is to piece the footage together to suit the needs of the project, and to display the clips in an appealing and consecutive manner. Specifically, I make decisions around cutting/adding content, providing the tone of the video, and choosing communication styles. Technically speaking, I constantly learn new skills and tools to produce the best visual image and cleanest audio. Storyboarding and footage shooting are responsibilities I share with coworkers and a scriptwriter, but I consult before, during and after to ensure a good final result.
